• 2 Days - 9 Riders - 1 Dog w/ Ring-Worms

RASC is a 2-day Ride Across South Carolina. The Ride has very few rules – they follow : No Fee, No Registration, No Schwag, No T-Shirt, No Whining. This is a group ride at 16 – 20 mph across the State – everyone and every type bike is welcome. We are in it simply to have fun and get it done.

The Skinny Details

Date : January 10 – 11, 2013

Start : My driveway on Hilton Head Island – or, at a couple other meeting points en route off the Island

Finish : Downtown Greenville

Day 1: Sunrise start and ride to Aiken, SC (~130mi)

Day 2: After Breakfast start and ride to Greenville, SC – with a lunch stop at the Dixie Diner in Greenwood, SC (~110mi)

FAQs

Q: Is this a race?
A: No, this is a ride – generally between 16-20 mph depending on the terrain and fuel level – we stop when we are hungry, thirsty, or need a nature break

Q: How many riders are there?
A: We’ve had as few as 3 and as many as 10

Q: Is there a support vehicle?
A: No, unless you arrange for it – we have been fortunate in the past and have a support vehicle for the ride – but, we do not plan for it until someone confirms it

Q: What do you bring?
A: Up to you – but, I bring the following: tubes, co2 cartridges, inflator, spare tire, couple water bottles, telephone, credit card, cash, and chamois creme

Q: Where do you sleep on Day 1?
A: Lodging has historically been one of the hotels near downtown Aiken

Q: Why no entry fee, t-shirt, or medal?
A: Its not about that  – its about riding your bike across the state

Q: I live in Gville (or, somewhere else) – how do I get to HHI for the start?
A: You are responsible for your transport – but, I will track people traveling from Gville to HHI in the effort to coordinate car-pools – and, will post that information as it is learned.

Q: I live in HHI (or, somewhere else) – how do I get home from Gville?
A: You are responsible for your transport – but, I will track people traveling from HHI to Gville in the effort to coordinate car-pools – and, will post that information as it is learned.

Q: Wouldn’t it be easier to ride from Greenville to Hilton Head?
A: Whats your point?
